Why it matters

Prices for the same procedure aren't close. They're not even in the same ballpark.

These are real numbers from hospitals' own price files. The dots show the spread — and where Medicare's benchmark falls. Where you go matters more than almost anything else.

How it works

Public data, made useful for the person paying the bill.

01
Search what you need

Type a procedure, a condition, or a CPT code from a doctor's order — "MRI knee", "colonoscopy", "heart". Add your ZIP code.

02
Compare every hospital

Self-pay prices, the Medicare benchmark, and CMS quality ratings, side by side on a map. Sort by price, distance, or rating.

03
Walk in knowing the number

Call the billing office with the hospital's own published price in hand — or pick the hospital that publishes a fair one.

Why this exists

Since 2021, hospitals must publish their prices. Most publish them as unreadable 400MB files.

We downloaded those files, cleaned them up, and put them in a search box. That's the whole product. It's free, because the data was always supposed to be yours.
