Every price on Even comes from data hospitals and the federal government publish: hospital price-transparency files (45 CFR Part 180), CMS Care Compare, and the Medicare Physician Fee Schedule. We show these numbers as published. Your actual bill depends on exactly which services are performed, how the hospital codes them, your insurance plan, and the hospital's billing practices at the time of service. Always confirm prices directly with the hospital before making decisions.
Even helps you compare prices. It does not evaluate whether any procedure is right for you, medically necessary, or safe at any particular facility. Quality ratings shown are CMS's own star ratings, reproduced as published. Talk to your clinician about care decisions.
Nothing on this site is legal advice, billing advocacy, or a guarantee of savings. If you're disputing a large or complex bill, consider a professional medical-billing advocate or an attorney.
Hospital transparency files are inconsistent, sometimes stale, and occasionally contain errors. We filter obvious anomalies and label price types (self-pay, list, negotiated), but we can't verify every number against what a hospital will actually charge you. If you spot a price that looks wrong, the hospital's published file — not Even — is the authoritative source.
Even is independent. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any hospital, health system, or insurer shown on this site. Hospital names appear solely to identify whose published data is being displayed.
